What Customers Say About Norton Antivirus 2010 1-User:

The only way I could opt out was to go to an entirely different website and using the ID and password I set up on the first site log on and find the cancel automatic renewal option and then endure another dialog box as I canceled it. And abuse this is. Yesterday, using the handy "subscribe now" button in my current Norton dialog box I renewed my Norton Anti-virus software online.

Then today, still stewing a bit about being bullied by Norton during the renewal process, I checked here to learn I could have purchased it new for $24.70 but instead had paid $39.99 for a renewal. I'm going with open source software next year. It will be a cold day you know where when I buy Norton again, or for that matter, anything form it's parent company Symantec.I don't like being bullied and abused.

This time last year I purchased Norton Anti Virus 2009. Better yet it should have been an opt in option in the first place. I've used it in the past with no problems.

In doing so Norton signed me up to automatically renew my contract every year charging the credit card I used for this renewal. They could have easily provided the option to opt out on the renewal website.

I have used Norton since 1999. I use this Anti-virus software and have found it to be real effective.

Still trying to deal with. The customer service for norton is horrible. They give you a run around and its hard to get a hold of them for technical assistance.

Norton responded by updating my NAV2009 to NAV2010 for FREE. If a virus should get through I know that a restore from back up is available. In June 2009 the NAV IPS function stopped working ( a minor component) due to a FireFox upgrade.

I like this product a lot and have renewed my subscription for another year. The first rule of computing is "Thou shall make back ups". I also own Norton Ghost and back up frequently.

I purchased NAV 2009 from Amazon in March 2009 and was very happy with the price, shipping and product functionality. I do not detect any slow down of my system. I am a loyal customer to Norton products because they work for me.

It took a month for Norton to fix this partly because FireFox kept updating their versions during the same period. I am using XP SP3 and have not had any viruses, or any other incidents since installing NAV2009 and the upgrade to NAV2010.

It is much more friendly than the Defender Pro which I just removed/uninstalled. The Norton 2010 Anti-virus one user/one pc was a breeze to install and seems to work great. Time will tell if the Norton product lives up to it reported reputation. The Defender Pro would lock up my computer by requesting that I download an updated version and sending numerous (over a hundred) windows that had to be deleted before my computer would allow me to do anything else. It downloads updates when you install it if you allow it. It does not seem to slow down the computer very much at all.
